The Euchre Bustle

The following is a debriefing of the 6th Annual, International Broomball Wizards, Natty Bumppo Euchre Bustle Championship.

By mid-evening on Saturday, it became evident the Euchre Bustle would be won by DavID – the lead was significant. The missing piece of the bustle puzzle was who would take second place. There were three eligible 2nd place contestants: Tony, Woody & PJ. At dinner time, Tony had a slight lead over Woody & PJ.
In the spirit of competition, the other euchre players stepped away and let the eligible 4 contestants battle it out.
DavID’s lead held & Tony in the draft position began to ebb. By the time the 4 agreed to call it a night, the Bustle Board showed the following point ranking: DavID (16), PJ (9), Tony (7) & Woody (6).
There was talk about DavID/PJ "domination" – the Bustle Board would reveal their true position in Wizards Euchre history.

Back to the Bustle Board:
      • The Bustle was decided in 26 games, or 52 stars
      • We had 90% of the participants play [ties the Euchre Bustle record, set in 2007]
      • DavID won the bustle with 16 stars
      • PJ took second with 9 stars
      • Combined, the champs won with 48% of the stars on the board
      • “Domination” factor: this year champs (48%) - place 3rd most dominate at the Bustle.
         The 2008 champs fall behind, aCe/Boze 2005 (49%) & Yogi/Boze 2004 (62%)
      • At the 6th Bustle, Buzz won his first game of Euchre!
      • Prizes: the champs both walked away with a Vine Park Brewery glass & a Bank Buddy shore rod holder in team colors

The 7th Annual International Broomball Wizards, Natty Bumppo Euchre Bustle Championship will be held - June 2009.
